Holidays' are lovely but home is lovely too and imagine my joy on returning to England to discover that I had been selected to be a DT member for Sweet Stampin. I am sooooooo delighted and honoured and chuffed to bits!
So this card is for this week’s challenge which is “Boys and their Toys”. For those of you who know my blog I only ever make cards for a reason – ie, the creation has to be specifically required for an individual known to me. I didn’t have a need for any little boy’s cards and I therefore struggled to work out how to use the fabulous digital images supplied by this week’s kind sponsor – Black Leaf Studios. What a brilliant selection of toy transport images; a fire engine, an ambulance, a police car, a dumper truck, etc! In the end I opted to make a card for a dear friend just to say hi. I used the pre-coloured cement mixer truck and relied on what I hope to be a clever use of words to make this vibrantly coloured little boy’s image (hopefully) more suitable for a “boy” who is distinctly older.
I Photoshopped the writing on the image and also coloured in the background, added buttons to the wheels, a little bit of Lakeland craft net ribbon and some ribbon from stash with a few gems. It’s all mounted on Debbie Mumm paper with a little Stampin Up sentiment on top. It still looks like a card fit for a little boy and I’m hoping the recipient will view this as me reaching out to the boy within the man!
I am so looking forward to my next six months designing for Sweet Stampin with the talented ladies of the team. Why not join the challenge this week and stop by to visit the blogs of my fellow design members:

Hi Lesley - I should have checked - did not realise it was you. Love this card.
I'm not very good at boy's cards - have got to get some practice, I think!!
