All Girl

Thank goodness our snow has gone.  I am well and truly fed up with it!  I have had nothing to do but stay indoors and make a mess in the Craft Croft.
I was trying to make a vintage card today using this beautiful Crafts and Me Sweet Pea image called Come Softly. I'm not sure I can really do vintage but I am quite pleased with my card.  The embossing folder and the MFT die that made the bow were gifts from best matey Julie and I just love them!  Thank you!  The image is coloured in Copics and Promarkers and I won the clock face from Cuddly Buddly when they sponsored the challenge at Marianne's Design in December.
The papers are quite vintagey although I managed to obscure the element that was most obvious and I don't think the image is particularly suited to a vintage card but she is so pretty.  I shall have to try harder next time but it's not bad for a first attempt.
I am entering my card into the challenges at:
Creative Card Crew - Girly
Stampin for the Weekend - Something Girlie
Raise the Bar - Message Me (use text papers)
Papertake Weekly - Tie Up your Loose Ends (with a bow); and
Crafts and me - Vintage

By the way - my Grenouille Greetings e-mail is down at the moment so if anyone is contacting me I'm not receiving you but I hope to have it back early next week.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to one and all!  I'm hoping that 2012 brings an economic up-turn, vastly improved lives for those living under oppressive regimes and a lessening of the amount of civil unrest in the world.   When I watch the news these days, it is so often sad and bewildering.  Why do we humans do such terrible things to each other?   I think everyone should take up card crafting.  It's such a passive calming hobby.  It produces pretty things that give the maker a sense of satisfaction and (hopefully) the recipient a sense of  feeling loved or appreciated.  I'm sure that if more people made cards and got involved in our friendly on-line crafting community, there would be more beauty and less violence in this world of ours!
I'm starting this year with a foursome of "anything goes" challenges for Crafts and Me, Simon Says, Creative Inspirations and Charisma Cardz.
I have used one of the beautiful Crafts and Me girlies, coloured in Copics on a background of Prima Pixie Glen DP with some DCWV texted paper, two MS butterfly punches and three tiny buttons.  My girlie has soft pink lips which I glazed and my camera flash has taken away the colour in the photo.
I really enjoyed making this card which has been stamped with one of my very first sentiment stamps reading"you're so special".  Unfortunately, I don't know the make.

HAVE A WONDERFUL YEAR!
Hugs, Lesley
