When I first saw Mo Manning's wonderful image of "Tom and Tilly" (which you can find here), I thought the couple looked exactly like our son-in-law's grandparents in Crete. So I had to buy it to make a Christmas card for them and I've used lots of "lovely layers" in order to participate in Mo's DP2 challenge this week. Sweet Stampin want us to be inspired by a film or a song and I thought "Wishing on a Star" would fit the bill if I added a Christmas star to my background and it would enable me to enter the ABC Challenge for "wishes". Creative Inspirations 178 have a "bingo" challenge and I used pearls, flowers and blue from the centre column to make my "Christmas" card.
My image is coloured in Copics. I used K&Co papers from various stacks for my papers and DCWV mounts. A forgotten Martha Stewart punch made the pretty edges along the central horizontal strip and my favourite Marianne Die skeleton leaves with a selection of Recollections flowers. The Ribbon Girl wants us to "add pearls" and Stampin for the Weekend wanted "swirls and pearls" so I cut a swirl with my Cricut and popped on a few midnight blue pearls to tie in with the night sky. My sentiment is by Stamps Away. Simon Says always has such great prizes and I thought I'd pop my card in there for their "Anything Goes" challenge too!
