Sketch Saturday #399

It's Saturday and time for another great sketch at
and we are delighted to be sponsored by
Simon Says Stamp

This week was one of those weeks which should come with a warning that some cards were harmed in the making of this one.  Niki sooooooooo taxed me with her incredible sketch this week and I wasted at least 6 hours, wrecked 5 sheets of DP and chucked out two nearly finished cards whilst trying to produce something for this week.   Then, all of a sudden, in a case of mad serendipity it all came together in my head (and on my desk) and I made this which I absolutely love.  I now can't work out why I found it so difficult in the first place!

There is a cloudy Stampin Up embossing folder (which you can't actually tell are clouds but it doesn't really matter) behind my rainbow strips - all of which came from my scraps drawer. The main feature is made with a Papertrey Ink sentiment, Sunshine die from the PTI Scene It set and pop-up trees from the PTI Petite Places set together with a Sizzix stitched curved die.  I loved how I found Craftworks candy to match every one of my rainbow DPs too.
In the end I absolutely LOVED Niki's sketch and I'm sure you will too so please scooch some space on your craft table and come and play along with us.  There is loads of lovely inspiration on the Sketch Saturday blog and don't forget to share some love with my super teamies.
I am entering my card into the Anything Goes as long as it's a card challenge at The Ribbon Girl
and

Papertrey Ink Create Along With us where I was inspired by Laurie's lovely card here

I spuddled with a card last night. Just kept adding layers to it and in the end the card is nothing like I had in my head!! Those candi on your card matching exactly must have quite mathematical odds against doing so!!! The card is a fab design. Hugs Mrs A.

Been there, Done that with your sketch experience. Why do the most simple sketches/cards become the hardest? Well I agree with you I love the end result too! Those primary colors just pop the card perfectly.

Hi Lesley,

Woo - you got the RAINBOW goin on there - it's so cheerful! How clever to make the strips the rainbow and then inset the trees and sun and sentiment. It's such a happy card!
