A Dirty Martini for the Hubster and some EXCITING news!

It's Saturday
OMG - It IS Saturday
and I'm late with one of Jen's fab sketches from
This week we are sponsored by the wonderful

Who kindly offered the DT some images to play with.  I chose this fabulous Martini Pin Up Sassy, which you can find if you scroll down this page here, and coloured her with Copics and Promarkers.   For the purposes of this card she is supposed to represent  me (in my dreams - and no doubt in the Hubster's too)!
My papers are a mix of Bearly Mine (in the circular image panel) and My Minds Eye and I added some Martini embellishments but my favourite part of this card is, in fact, the zip.
Back in January I came across this card that I made (and posted on my blog) 3 years ago. I was thinking wouldn't it be great if instead of the laced opening I created on the DP, I could use a zip.
There didn't seem to be any zipper dies out there so I cobbled together the attached picture of a zip and sent it, together with a copy of my red anniversary card and an explanation of my idea to THE Marianne of Marianne Designs and she created this die number CR1260 which should be available from your local stockist at least as a pre-order item from next week.  HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!?

I cut the zipper out twice and used one above and beneath the circle on my Martini card and one below and beneath the circle to make it look like a much longer zip.  I have SO many ideas for this new die that I can't wait to use it again and I'm so grateful to Marianne for making my idea a reality.

But getting back to today's Sketch Saturday sketch - do share some love with my teamies and come and play along with us.

I am entering my card into the challenge at Bearly Mine (I used one of their DPs) for challenge 108 "Anything Goes"
