Sweet Stampin Improvements

We have a new challenge this week at Sweet Stampin where we want you to make your own background paper.  Now I didn't see this as meaning "No Design Papers", I only saw it as having to make at least one of my own.
My post on Thursday was a card I made using The Sugar Bowl fabulous sketch and a colour combo of Black, White and one other colour (I chose red).  I wasn't entirely happy with it - but I'm very grateful for all of the lovely supportive and appreciative comments.  So for Sweet Stampin this week, I decided to go back to the drawing board and make a few more cards using the same image and basic sketch from last week's Sugar Bowl challenge but improving on my last effort.
I think Leanne Ellis' little "Poinsettia Girl" is one of my favourite Christmas images and in my mind these new and improved makes are much better than my last one!
I really like how ONLY the poinsettia has any colour (aside from the skin tones).  It's glazed too.   I used Copics and Promarkers to colour the image and two of the papers are Stampin Up (I think). The paper in the background is the one I made myself, by stamping part of this Inkadinkadoo Christmas Tree stamp around the edge.  Why not join in with us at Sweet Stampin this week and make your own design paper.  We are sponsored by Ladybug Crafts for this challenge and our sponsor for the month of December is Crafty Emma's Store so lots of great prizes to be had too!

Well, I really liked the other one too, but this one is totally gorgeous also. I can't believe you are so clever to use a part of that Christmas tree!!! Very effective!!! I do like the little "pop" of red on the poinsettia, sets it off nicely!!!

I do like the first effort, but I have to say, I like this more. The poinsettia really pops out and makes a great focal point. xxx
