A Sweet Stampin Passion for Promarkers

It's my team's turn to create a card for this week's fabulous challenge over at

where we are once again sponsored by Elaine at Quixotic Paperie.  With the exception of the image, I purchased all of the items on my card ages ago in America specifically to make something for our grandson.  It was his first birthday last week. I therefore didn't use any stash from Quixotic Paperie but do poodle over to Elaine's site and let your mouth water over the abundance of gorgeous booty she has in store.
I apologise for the length of this post - it's a very big card - almost an A4 frontage.  The blue background papers are Stampin Up.  The green stripe, Noah's Ark and the animal print papers are by Debbie Mumm for Joanne's and are pre-embossed and have a bit of sparkle.   I shared some of these lovely papers with best matey Julie who used the same image in her great tutorial over at Passion for Promarkers.  Their challenge this week is "animals" and I so loved the little ark Julie used that I had to go and buy it from Doodle Palace.  It was the perfect image for the Debbie Mumm papers and goes so well with the Dress it Up animal buttons embellishing my card.
We have a "photo inspiration" picture for this week's Sweet Stampin challenge. Isn't this fabulous bunting?  I incorporated the sandy wall colour and combined it with blue for a boy and green (which is the feature colour of Giannis' bedroom).   I also made the world's tiniest bunting and hung it on a Stickles "string" to decorate my ark.  Inking up the edges of these tiny flags was a bit tricky, I can tell you!
I raised the bunting on dimensional foam pads and decoupaged the sheep's face, the elephant's head and the wheels of my ark which are coloured in Promarkers.  I used a lot of Promarkers for my animals (they make such great colours) but I also used some Copics.  I find the combination of these two types of alcohol pens brilliant to work with.  Here's another picture showing the ark and the little ribbon loop embellishments at the bottom.
I used four Dress it Up animal buttons; I love the little lion holding a baby bottle.  There is a little horse with a pacifier/dummy in his mouth on the left hand corner of the ark (just out of shot here but visible on the picture of the whole card at the top of the page),
a cute little giraffe with baby blanket and, on my word processed sentiment rosette, there is a little ark button.   All the flowers are Prima (I think) and I used some lovely ribbon from my stash.  Although I shouldn't say so myself, I am really pleased with this card.  You can click on any image to see more detail if you like.
Lastly, I purchased some animal print gift wrap and made a little gift tag to coordinate with my card.  I changed the squiggled address on the envelope so that it is addressed to Giannis from Grandpa and Nana and I decoupaged just the giraffe's nose. This image is also from Doodle Palace.  Isn't he sweet?
The card, tag and wrapping took me forever which is why I have made nothing else in the last two weeks and why I have not dropped by anyone else's blog.  Sorry - I'll be back soon!

Hi Lesley

What a fantastic creation .. I love your ark very much. It is just perfect for a child's birthday and what better child than your grandson.

I am pleased you took the extra photographs at various angles because from the first one you just don't realise how much work has gone into this.

Beautiful work.
