When hubby and I go to Florida for our holidays we always spend a long weekend with my cousin Chris and her husband Dennis. Chris works two jobs, keeps a fabulous home, entertains us like royalty and always agrees to do a bit of sewing for me. She is a STAR! I feel terrible for asking her to sew on Sunday afternoon - her only free time all week - but this year for the holiday I had purchased three new pairs of shorts which had tie up belts. I hate tie up belts because they bulge just where I am already bulging and I asked her if she could put buckles on them instead. This she did - quite beautifully I must say - and as soon as I lose the 5lbs I put on while I was on holiday, I hope to actually wear the shorts!!!
Sugarbowl has a great "sketch" this week and an optional theme of Pink, black and white. What better way to say thank you to Chris for her buckle sewing skills than to send her this card. I must say - I am really pleased with the Sugar Nellie Pen Pal image, coloured in copics. The black and white paper is Stampin Up and the pink is DCWV. I cut the buckles with a Sizzix die and then spent two hours gluing black ribbon to pink ribbon to paper and trying to thread them through the buckles, the appertures on two of which were too small for the ribbon. Got there in the end though. Thanks for stopping by!
