It's Saturday which means another fab sketch from
This week, sponsored by the wonderful
I'm struggling with my new light box that I got for Christmas. I'm either getting photos where my card looks warmer than in IRL or ones where all the colour has washed out. I think this photo is blurred to boot!!! I shall have to move it somewhere else so that I can use the tripod I think. Anyway, We have a lovely sketch this week which I tried really hard to emulate but didn't quite manage. Everything is there but my ribbon moved upwards and is behind the image and my sentiments are kind of spread out. I used this glorious image by Mo Manning called "Diva" which you can find here. I coloured her up with Copics (using my new gold coloured one for her dress) and Spica pens. Her crown and dress are very sparkly as are her jet necklace and earrings. She is mounted on my new pack of My Minds Eye Lost & Found "Sunshine" papers and I added some new Recollections flock to her feather boa. I had to use all these new things because the challenge at Mo's DP2 is "Something New" and I want to enter her there.
Here is a close up showing the sparkle on her dress and the feathers in her boa. I was very pleased with my flock application. I cut the word "Alex" from my Cricut and mounted it directly on the little banner on the DP and Birthday Diva has been Word processed.
Come and play along with us why don't you. And don't forget to stop by my teamies' blogs and share some love!
I am entering my card into the following challenges in addition to Mo's DP2
Crafty Creations also want "Something New" and Papertake Weekly want "Happy New" and
Totally Papercrafts who want to see "ribbon". I thought I would also pop it on Make it Monday where it's always anything goes.
I have been struggling a bit to settle down into 2013 but I should get around to visiting my blog buddies soon!

Great card and lovely colours.
