Taking liberties with Quixotic Paperie and I Love Promarkers

Well I finally made four more Christmas cards; two designs in duplicate.  I didn't use a sketch or follow any directions but it seems to me that both projects just about qualify for two challenges.   Quixotic Paperie wanted to see "stars".  I have been banging my head against a wall trying to come up with ideas for Christmas cards and that surely qualifies as "seeing stars" but this delightful Whiff of Joy image of Wee and Christmas Tree does have a star on the top of the tree and as there are two cards shown (I actually made two the same of each one) that qualifies as plural stars (maybe?)!

I Love Promarkers wanted stripes and spots.  Now I realise I am taking liberties with the stripes theme but the ribbon makes a stripe on both cards and the layout of the one above has another wide "stripe" of spotted paper layered behind the image, beneath the ribbon.  The background paper is vaguely stripey too (in a geometric kind of way.   The tree has spots (which are in fact red and sparkly on both cards - a mix of gel and spica pens - which I'm amazed do not show up on the image above) and the card below has lots of circles which are of course just great big spots!

The green card stock is by DCWV and the patterned paper is by Stampin Up and of course Wee and Tree are coloured with Promarkers!

Before I go back to work I just want to apologise for a complete lack of comments left on the fabulous blogs I follow.  I have just been sooooooooooo busy that I haven't had any time to follow anyone of late.

Thank you for stopping by!
